Engine is looking clean !

Is that paint on the barrels or did you do something exotic?

Also - Nice pipe - not the usual bend? Couldn't make it out as to the brand? Kinda Kerker Old style, but looks new.

Thats just the rubber spigots you see. The picture is not a close-up. I do have a problem with the engine paint job. We took our time and did it right but it has been a couple of months since we painted it and it was sitting in my humid garage and it is bubbling (arrgh) I have decided to fire it up first to bake the case and then at some point repaint it (again arrgh) I used a new engine case paint from eastwood and maybe i waited to long to cure it?? anyone have any suggestions? I also scratched the mint paint job on the frame. My painter is going to KILL me. Should of removed the exhaust studs? The paint is a two part, color black with a purple overspray that only jumps out at you in natural sunlight. Otherwise it just looks black. I hope he can touch -it up!! the carbs I just got are 36mm flatsides. I am going to try a competition baffle in the kerker per my engine guy.

I know the pain... I have about 3 gouges in my newly finished Pridmore tribute bike on the fresh powder coated frame... none from the engine... just stupid little stuff that bugs you for days after the "incident"

Very nice job. well done.B)
U may find the carbs are a little big though. I have rs34's on my KZ1200cc with full port and cams.
She will be lazy on the botton end.

I have heard similar. But i have put my trust into my engine builder and he is a professional (powerhouse motorcycles). This will be a "around the town" bike so the low end is important to me. If i am unhappy I will sell them off and try different ones. I heard round slides are good for this kind of build?

The head is more important than the carbs at this point.
If the intake runners are made too big too match the carbs, u cant regain whats lost by simply putting on smaller carbs later. U must have a certain amount of air speed through the port (about 300cfm)to have low end performance. As the runners are made bigger to accommodate larger carbs they loose speed. This helps at the top end but u will suffer at lower rpm's. Your carbs should match your cams.if u use a longer duration cam, this will give u more top end,so use a bigger carb. if u want torque down low , Keep everything small, runners, carbs, and cams.
Does Powerhouse specialize in new or old school bikes? Big dif.
I'm not trying to tell u what to do, just giving u information.B)
