We tried to get a torque curve but my resistorless sparkplug caps were most likely disrupting the signal from 5k rpm onwards.

Yeah, I worked at a shop where we had a dyno and we'd get the same thing from time to time. It's insane, also; the only way you can get a bHp reading is by using a measurement of 'torque' as a multiplier to determine the bHp...so, you'd think that since 'torque' is a known quantity (it must be to reach a 'bHp' figure) that you'd always be able to read the curve...but alas, not so. :(

Very nice build Robinjo. A major improvement from original without hacking up a rare bike. I'll surely be asking you some questions as I am a new owner as well to mine. Curious, is yours registered as a Martin with it's frame number or is it registered as Kawasaki with the motor number? Here is mine...

Thanks for the compliment and I'd be happy to help where ever I can. My bike is officially registered as a 1981 Martin, type Kawasaki, frame number KC followed by four digits not related to the engine number.

I really like your bike, racer rough and period correct, love the drilled rotors and Brembo's.

thanks, yeah it's in pure racer form now , duct tape tach and all..;)..I will restore it to basically a very nice racer, with nice fit and finish and just enough lights to make it legal. yeah, those rotors are definetely form the days of 'Drill more holes, it will be lighter and cooler !!!' I found a NOS stainless Kerker that is super nice and is the perfect style, not the drag style Sidewinders that make you lowside the bike every right hand turn...

Finally got the front brakes to work well, turns out the right caliper bracket was bent (how the heck???) so the pads would touch the disc at an angle :S Sure screws up the brake feel... lever is nice and firm now, also threw in a rebuild kit on both calipers before the final solution but that did nothing.
