Lots been done since my last post, repaired the fairing , a new screen has been bought in France, shortened the front forks a bit, had a seat made for the RG500 tailpiece, repaired the threads of the rear brake bleeder, made forkstops, replaced the clutch and throttle cables, replaced the front master cylinder, adapted some handlebars to work with the fairing.

Lots and lots of work on the body to get it ready for paint which should be drying out this weekend (no baking the fiberglass) wheels and single rear shock are getting powdercoated, ready for collection the coming week, ordered assorted stickers and had custom "Martin" stickers made in the original font (getting them soon hopefully).

Now I'm working on the wiring loom and it's a nightmare tbh, it doesn't resemble any known diagram although Z10001A comes close, it has been worked on before and they replaced everything with black wire...

Got a new one-piece R/R from Z1 which shuld just click on but not on my bikes loom, 3 yellows go on the stator, brown is current, black is ground but what to do with the white one???

The white wire (possibly with a red stripe?) is the output from the reg/rec and should connect to the battery positive terminal through a 20A (or possibly 30A) fuse.

The brown wire is the voltage sense wire and should connect to a switched 12V source.

Sweet bike and nice work, please keep the pics coming.

It's a white wire and it makes perfect sense now I know, the white wire I had left over going to the main fuse (I have a fuse box with 3 fuses) was left over and just plugged in, after he fuse it turns white/red. Will connect the brown to a switched wire, thank you!

And thanks you guys for the compliments they are appreciated :) , I'm working on getting the bike ready for a 70/80's Superbike meeting later this year.

Oh I will be sure to bring my camera with me, I love pics. But that is still a few months away, in the meantime I got my Martin stickers in the house.

And the wiring loom is about ready too, does anybody know what the 20W 0.5 Ω resistor is for in the light circuit?

And I need new front brake rotor bolts for the Morris wheel/ rotorcenters, these were a bit of a nightmare to get out, a lot of them were already damaged, one even had a bit of broken off tool still stick out of it. Thing is that the allen key needed is pretty close to a metric 5mm bit but not quite. ;)

They have a tapered head and fit a 3/16 Allen key
Thread length is 0.6" and the thread itself is "Whitworth 55° 18G 5/16" accoriding to my little thread measuring tool. I measured the thickness of the thread and it's 0.3" but that measurement needs to be a "fracture" size like too I suppose to order new ones? so that would make it a 5/16? The thread of the bolt itself being a bit smaller and the thread hole itself being a true 5/16?

I hope to find them locally, maybe at the Harley dealer? :P

I'm not sure, but are you perhaps running into some of that 'British Standard' bullsh*t? That stuff fits very inconveniently inbetween the US stuff and the metric stuff. I hate it. Regardless, my best advice is to see if Fastenal can take care of you.

PS> If you "upgrade" to more modern componentry, you won't have this problem. Just a thought. Your machine is beautiful, in any event.

British stuff i have been told has a different angle of the threads, 60 compared to the 55 I have measured IIRC, will check with an expert to be sure.

Upgrading the suspension has crossed my mind but I decided against it, I have another project from another brand which is quite "S"imilar ;) to Kawa stuff that I'm already doing that too but the model I am doing that too is much more common than a Martin, and the Martin bike actually hadles pretty well. And thanks for the compliment!

Got the paint and powdercoat back. :) I have decided on white paint together with blue wheels (little darker in real life btw, flash...) because this bike is going to be an Endurance Replica! It may even see some track in the future.
