Really nice comments!
Its hard to say when its done... You all know projects...
Hey bake, really a raw bike you got there!
Do you have some more pics?
Seems like we have the same taste.
Mark: There are coming some pics now, if you want more/others, just tell me, and I will put out.
Its summer in Norway, and here are the latest update!
Project saddle/rear end. (LED light will come soon, maybe tomorrow, its finished)
Well, its no use for me in using the old J saddle. The boxy construction and space for two is no use for me.
Luckily I have spares in the GPZ1100ZX, and also the GPZ750 behind, my two spare bikes wreck.
I took that what I think is an unoriginal sports saddle that belongs to the ZX1100, and, behold! It almost fits.
Original 1000J to the left.
Here I need to cut off some material, in order to lower the saddle.
Done with the polyester resin and fiberglassing.
Also needed to move these.
Drilled new holes, and blasted and gunkotet.
Now I need to find the right design.
First I need to fasten the old rear end. After MUCH thinking and Pepsi drinking, which angle etc...
Using aluminum rivets.
Then, after the design is planted in my head, I need to make an mold.
Filling it up, using expanding foam for insulation.
The day after.
The next pictures is almost from the Indiana Jones movie, when they eat the monkey brain...
I told you! Now I got a secret place for all my gold. :king:
So, then its shaping.
And this is so far I have come, tomorrow more pics!
Yeah, also a little preview of the LEDs.
:woohoo:

More updates.
Glued the fiberglass on the top, I made 3 thin plates using a another rear end as mold.
Some plastering. (I will use a lot of it I guess)
Starting to shape the hardened foam
On the bike, need the have a look in order to find the right curves...
More plastering...
Top layer is gray, and a little more fine graded, easier to sand.
So, a little break while waiting for the plaster to harden, lets have a look at Little Bæææ
The name is Little Bæææ because when buying it, me and the owner hit a lamb with the van on the mountain road, sad story. Hmm. But lamb and garlic is nice thou...
It become an long rearend, but i want that 70s - 80s look, that was the style.
Tomorrow its more plastering and sanding, before I drag carbon over it.
So, the LED light.
First I wanted to make one my self, but after a while I found out that buying one, using the electronic in the original lamp is a better choice, I like the square design.
So first i found something i could use.
Here is a cheap one, with the right size.
Ebay
Its for a Honda RC51.
Then is to try to make it fit in the original lamp house.
I used the original plastic mounting that come with the LEDs motherboard, just a little grinding to make it fit the Kawa lamp.
Its a complex LED motherboard.
When you turn on the turn light it fades out the driving light in the lamp that becomes yellow.
So tomorrow is the carbon shield that the rearlight is bolted on finished hardening, more pics tomorrow! :woohoo:

Updates!
Here is the carbon plate for the rear light.
And something like this.
Much plastering and sanding.
So, 2K filler, to fill out the small dents that I have overlooked. I could use some acryl paint first to reveal the dents in the surface, but I was quite sure there was not that big scrathes and dents left, so I went straight to the filler. More filler (and maybe a tiny plastering) tomorrow after sanding.
And then some bad news regarding the gold carbon I need more of.
Its not in production for the next 6 months, and its impossible to lay my hands on now.
So I need to rethink the color and surface for the tail... HMMMM
