A quick google search tells me that Urea is produced in the US but at quantities to low to fulfill the current need. Perhaps the manufacturers will ramp up production but whatever happens, expect Blue DEF to double in cost because… they can.

Prior to my retirement I drove deisel trucks here in the states for 25 yrs. In the later yrs all the trucks used def. Some of our drivers and mechanics said that 2 parts distilled water and 1 part urine, (yes piss), was a safe substitution for def ?  There are also def delete kits you can fit to a engine where def fluid would no longer be required.    defdeletekits.com/

It's not really a case of being "safe" as running without it won't effect the engine in any way (it is injected into the exhaust to cause a chemical reaction in the cat) however as I said previously, certainly in the case of my car and most relatively new diesel vehicles the system is sophisticated enough to detect if the fluid is not correct (I put cheap Add Blue in my car and it triggered the 500ml count down to not re-starting) and using any kind of "delete kit" would be illegal as the taxation in Europe is driven by manufacturers emmision figures (remember the VW scandal a few years back) and as with everywhere else "tax evasion" comes with significant penalty's (it would be detected at MOT inspection time) so unfortunately you need to decide between jail time and sucking up the ever rising cost of freedom

One good thing about being an American is, we don't care what the ROW thinks of our political leaders. In fact, we kind of like it when they piss and moan about it. It seems to me the most popular presidents on other shores are also the weakest.

As I look at the neighbor to our north and the rest of it's provinces then look at what the resident is trying to do along with his party I see Mexico with the way their people still have their freedoms. WTF happened?

This will neither lower the price of gas nor make us safer. This is deliberate, nobody is this stupid. This guy has to go. Hopefully we can recover.

The price of oil is about the same as it was in 2011. As it is now $130 a barrel gas still shouldn't be over $4 a gallon. Yes this is being done for a reason and none of it is for our good.

Adjusting for inflation, gas was higher in 2008 at $4 bucks a gallon.

I don’t care what side of the isle your on, shipping oil to China out of our SPR is stupid and completely indefensible. If your only come back is gas was higher in 2008 adjusted for inflation just shows how blinded by your political stance people are that they forget we Americans need to do what’s best for the United States. China is eating our lunch and we are the wait staff. Wake up!
