The parts diagram does not show a main stand on the B2, but I would have assumed that it would mount with a pair of large shoulders bolts with a 14mm nut on the end. Is that not how yours mounts?

I noticed the part break down doesn't show the B2 with a main stand. Maybe I have misidentified my bike, Im using the main stand temporary while I replace the steering head bearings and rebuild the forks. I took the shoulder bolts to the local hardware and couldn't get the bolt to thread into a 14-1.50 nut, but a 9/16-18 would fit. the nut wouldn't thread on a 9/16 bolt. im confused.

LTD versions didn't have a center stand but the mount brackets are there if you want to install one. I put one on my B4 so that I could keep the carbs even when the engine is shut off.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

hardrockminer… thanks for the info. I might leave it on but noticed it will hit the drive chain when in the upright position. is there a stop missing somewhere???

SWest Actually the bolt number is 34019-014... I have all the pieces, what I need Is the thread size so I can chase the threads in the tabs on the frame. they haven't been used in years and besides all the road crud, and rust there is also paint in the threads, At $40 a pop for bolts I want to clean up the threads in the tabs so I don't ruin the shoulder bolts.

There is an aftermarket bracket you can buy and install on the exhaust pipe attachment hole. I bought one from Johnny's Cycle but others make them. Or you can just fabricate one if you're handy with metal work. (I'm not.)

Hardly stumped. Steve posted a pic of the nut and bolt at the beginning of the thread. My friends can't always remember the different metric bolt sizes / pitches, but never fear google is sometimes your friend. They say dementia is one of the first things to hit. Some politicians even don't know what state they are in. lol

It is 10mm, and it is considered fine thread so the pitch would be 1.25.

This is the nut the center stand uses. It is a 10mm X 1.25 fine thread self locker.

www.google.com/search?q=Kawasaki+10mm+bo...ceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Bolt Diameter Standard Thread Pitch (mm) Fine Thread Pitch (mm)
7mm 1.00 -
8mm 1.25 1.00
10mm 1.50 1.25
12mm 1.75 1.50

EDIT: I tried to align the tabbing on the thread pitches but the software keeps bunching things up when I do. <sigh>

*Kawasaki used 2 different bolt pitches, as did most Jap bike builders. To mix in a bunch of oddball pitch sizes would be a logistics nightmare for any manufacturer. One thing I can assure it is NOT a 3/8 NF fastener.

In re-reading the OP comments.. You are confusing the bolt head sizes with the fastener size. A 14 mm hex head is a 10mm bolt (normality) A 9/16 hex head bolt is a 3/8" bolt. It seems that the only person stumped on this thread is the OP on correct fastener sizing.

It could also be 1.0 or 0.75

Evidently, ther is also 1.12 and 0.5, though I bet they are pretty rarely seen in the U.S.

Here is a printable chart, though you will need a really good printer for the small stuff.

You can use a thread/pitch gauge for metric and whitworth to get the right pitch.
