The stock fender acts like a fork brace. I don't know if there are any off-the-shelf fork braces for the KZPs, but removing the stock fender will affect performance as the fork tubes will not want to travel up and down together. I am using that same fender on my project, however i was able to find a fork brace for the forks i am using.

Since the forks on the KZP are 37mm and have boots which fork brace would/could be utilized? Airtech races the KZP and their suggestion was no brace required. I can safely assume race is harder than street BUT my concern are bumps in the road....

Hmmm, well Im pretty sure the KZP forks are 38mm. Airtech told you, you don't need a fork brace? That seems to defy all conventional wisdom on the topic I've heard. I guess you don't NEED a brace, loads of people run without fenders at all. However, needing one and wanting one because your bike will handle better are two different things. I guess it depends on how you plan on riding the bike. If you're putting around you probably wont notice, but even mildly spirited riding will probably benefit from something up there. That being said, upgrading the forks springs and installing emulators will probably get you better results than a fork brace alone, but it costs more. I have a brace for my 43mm ZRX forks and they are quite a bit more substantial than the KZP forks.

I see there is a Tarrozi fork brace for the KZ1300. I believe that had 38mm forks, perhaps look into that.

Yeah 38 not 37. Fat finger error. I found a Tarozzi online. The KZP fender is mounted n a fork brace bracket. Worse case I will modify the new fender to fit that. Mahalo for your help.

I am currently reforming the Maier fairing to fit the headlight. They say 7 inch but its not 7 inches around. More like an egg. Heat gun and a SCUBA tank as a mandrel should remedy that quick enough. I also have a new rear fender(from Airtech) and tail light going on next as soon as the connectors come in. Last will be paint. Cheehoo fellas!

that fairing looks really good. It is entirely a matter of opinion which way looks better but i believe that fender was intended to be mounted long side forwards.
