What is it? Z1 or a KZ?

Doesn't the KZ-900 have extra frame bracing?

Besides that, looks like a Z1 tail and forks. A Z1 tank has the bottom ridge/seam towards the inside of the tank, not on the outer perimeter. But with all the parts that can swap, only the numbers will tell you what you have. You can put all the Z1 parts on a A4 frame, at the end of the day it's still a 76 KZ.

Not a bad looking bike, don't like mags tho.

by this point in that bikes life...it is many bikes..as are most by now...3 decades on...anyways ,,,and this will ruffle feathers fo sho...kz-z1-1000-900...same bikes.....kz900-z1900 so darn close and really the z1 changed every run off the line itself some...900=900

Have you ever seen any Z1 forks with twin calipers under the lowers? I see a definite need on a possible stolen bike...Read all the threads he's started, why else would someone refuse help in posting VIN numbers?

Yes Ive seen z1s with dual discs,that has the sticker on caliper like a z1 caliper has on that side.
Somebody just spun those forks around to put them on rear .

Couldn't the forks be swapped so the mounts are on the rear???

Why would someone possessing a stolen bike post pics of it on the internet???

I probably have.

Z1's came with a dual disc option, and the fork legs are symmetrical so you could just turn them around.

Get off the guys back for not wanting to post his VIN. Alot of people dont, doesn't mean they f-ing stole it.

I don't care what the vin number is on the frame as he said its a z1 front end with newer wheel and brakes.
The 73-75 z1 front end had the reflectors on the forks,kz series bikes did not.
Its a 4 bolt hub/rotor set up on the bike which makes it a 76-newer front rim ,the rear disc brake wire wheel didn't come out till 77 and ended in 78 on the 1000.
Rear caliper looks to be 79-80 1000 ltd to me
Brake rotors are drilled in stock 79-80 ltd pattern,still not sure about extra holes around rivets.
This is my old 74 z1 900,yes it began its career in late 1973 as 74 z1 bike.
I put rear suspension/brakes and front end from a 77/78 kz1000 A series bike on it,do you want to know the serial number off the frame?

Heres the reproduction caliper for the dual disc upgrade on the z1,its the one that goes on right side when calipers are mounted in front .
It goes on left side when legs are reversed.
Do ya notice the allen head bolts in place of hex head bolts?
