I had new tires put on my bike Saturday, I ordered dunlop 404's, got the bike to the shop at about 930 am didn't get it back until almost 2 pm. Noticed I have about a 1-1/2" gap on the left side between the tire and the swing arm and about a 1/4" gap on the right side between the tire and the swing arm. Also have suspision of there being tubes in my tires. Aren't the 79 rims compatitable for tubeless tires?

Your motorcycle uses tubes. I wouldn't think having more gap on one side of the swingarm than the other is normal. Are the adjusters on each end of the swingarm adjusted the same?

can you please take somepictures of the backend of the bike and one of each side of your swingarm to see if they have put the spacers in wrong.

Yeah I can def put up pictues later today. I am pretty sure they put the spacers on wrong. The adjustments were off by about a 1/4 of a nuch. I readjusted them to plumb and the sway got worse ( probably because the spacers are wrong ) so I just adjusted it back to the way it was, I'm calling the shop right now to see what they are gonna do to fix this since I paid them 350 to do the job right. Pics up at around 5 530 mt time.

I figured I did, but they did install an elite II 491 in place of the d404 rear at the same cost. It is the labor they rape you on. thanx for the info.

the shop's gotta keep the doors open boy's if you can't or won't do it yourselfs then they have to charge for there time they gotta eat to and keep the lights on.

That's all messed up. Dont ride it like that. For sure there should be a short spacer on your chain side, that is just like a donut with no ridge. The longer ridged one goes on the brake side.

Pardon my ignorance, but how can the disk be lined up properly if the wheel isn't centered right?

$350? if that's the total including taxes, then it's not toooo much. It may be a tad high (maybe not), but I wouldn't fret over it: $105 + 125 (tires @ retail)+ 2x$15 (tubes) + 2x$3 (rim strips) + tire disposal fee + labor.
