Holy Cow $350 !!! You could of bought the tire irons, weights and a balancer for that and done it yourself. Plus, As long as you put things back the way they came apart , You could be riding it now. Changing tires isn't brain surgery. I would definately look up the rearend on any oem parts site and print it off. Then take it to the guy who changed the tire and make him fix it.

Pardon my ignorance, but how can the disk be lined up properly if the wheel isn't centered right?

That's the question. The answer is assuming the correct spacer is used between the disc side of the wheel and the caliper, the caliper will be lined up with the disc. From there there is a spacer that goes on the chain side of the wheel and a spacer that goes between the caliper and the swingarm on that side, so goofing up those 2 spacers will offset the entire wheel and caliper is what appears to be the problem. However offsetting the caliper should make the torque link not line up with the caliper. There are 200 1000LTD guys on here every day. Someone help out king with a couple of pics?

$350? if that's the total including taxes, then it's not toooo much. It may be a tad high (maybe not), but I wouldn't fret over it: $105 + 125 (tires @ retail)+ 2x$15 (tubes) + 2x$3 (rim strips) + tire disposal fee + labor.

Make sure that you are setting on the same hash marks on the adjusters or you are gonna have problems. Sounds like they screwed it all up. I have the same make as you 79' LTD B3 and it took me alot of sweat and wrenching to get it tweaked after I added a new chain. Is your bike stock or has it got modifications? Tom

I believe it is all stock, the guy at the shop is swearing that he put it back together the way I brought it in.
