Buy this and don’t worry about 3wire setup.

Just a thought here. Are you keeping the rear TS incandescents? If so that might be enough load to stop the hyper flash on the stock flasher. If you going rear LED, then you will need 2red flashers, one TS and the other hazard. I’ve had those red LEDs on my bike about 4 yrs with no issue.

Re: DRL headlight on a 73 Z1
03 May 2023 14:07A mix of LED and incandescent won't draw enough current for a mechanical flasher to run at the right speed, the unit I showed can run up to 150w so would serve both hazard and TS from a single unitJust a thought here. I use the SHIN YO 3-pin universal flasher relay. With this relay it is possible to operate a flasher combination of LED and bulb.
You can use it as 2 or 3 connector relay and you can adjust the flashing frequncey if needed.

Mikaw
i am keeping the incandescent bulbs on the rear TS for now. I’m anxious to see the new gauge and headlight workout. Been fiddling with this bike one way or another for 50 years now! I’m no engineer or machinist like many of you (very jealous), but I love working on this bike. Between it and my ‘92 Ducati 900ss, I have two great bikes to ride!
