on your three wire relay my orange wire goes to the turn signal switch, the brown I assume is the power, so what goes to the third terminal on the relay?  Thanks

Ground, Negativ, Frame

"B" = Power (battery+ or ignition swichted brown wire 12 Volt)
"E" = Earth (battery- or frame/engine ground)
"L" = Light (to turn signal switch)

Thanks Scirocco, I have one on the way, due here on Wednesday.  Hopefully that will start me on the correct hook-up.  Do you agree with Mikaw that the DRL from the headlight can be tapped into the blue wire that feeds light to the tach and speedo?  Or am I better off tying into the RH light switch?  Thanks!

The choice is yours, the LED DRL won't overload the circuit Mikaw mentioned however if you have the two position light switch that would be my preference (at least then you have the option to turn it off if you wish)

Sounds good!  I think since I have the switch I will tap it into that. Thanks to everyone, Wookie 58, Mikaw & Scirocco for your help!  I will put things together and let you know how things go by weeks end.

You could run a wire from your tail light to the DRL. I’m assuming the DRL is of low wattage/current draw.

Scirocco
i got the flasher relay today.  Just want to make sure I don’t blow something.  The leads are labeled P,    L,    X.   To what terminal do I connect the brown power wire, turn signal wire and ground?    Thanks again!

ps.  Love your machining skills!  You are an artist with that lathe.  Your bike is beautiful!

L - green line is output to the turn signal switch
P - pink line - I believe this is your power in, check that the copper wire from the relay contact is going to P
X - if P is the contact connector then X is ground

Thanks Wookie 58
the picture that came with the relay on the internet shows a very different hookup.  I see a single copper strand leading to the “P” terminal like you said.  This is crazy!

Looking at your latest post you have bought the wrong thing, what you have is a heavy duty flasher relay for towing a trailer/caravan etc. what you need is below

Bummer!   It said it was for LED related issues like rapid flashing, no flashing, bulb burnout, etc.  I will get the correct one!  Thanks for catching my mistake!
