Well.. we are alive boys. Everything works.. horn, lights.. brake lights.. everything. One of the brown with white spot wires needed to be filpped to the other side. A year ago when I was in a hurry to order all the cables... tach, clutch throttle..etc. I mistakingly ordered a longer clutch and tach... of course!  The new shorter ones will be here thursday. So trying to let clutch cable in and out was a pain in the balls as it was just too long and effected the clutch switch and I really dont have the patience to play with it. Boy.. do I miss my buddy Jeff. He was in my backyard and I would sit in his office and order parts for all my builds .. He knew exactly what I needed. You would think I would remember after all these years.(shorter cables).. Old age is kicking in.. LOL. I currently have the clutch switch out as I get all the bodywork back from the paint shop. ..end of next week,, including matching clutch and brake handles...I will install the new clutch cable with what I have cause I need to hear this baby run. We never got into that on this post ... As you know electrical is not my thing... But everything else is.. Engine is stock 1000 and completely gone through... cases split and all new everything. GS1100E swingarm..Mikuni 34 flatslides .all new electrical, Dyna 2000 ,gauges, controls I powder coated the frame and battery box, triple trees and swingarm and yes I did have Dennis Murray make me one X pipe... long story about that... (kind of surprised I did not get asked about it from the pictures I posted)..But I cannot thank you guys enough for the help on the electrical... means the world to me as I try to get this one finished. While I wait for parts I was messing with my other bike. Looks like I have to order a new oddysey battery. The last one I got from FBG and I need a new one( i take care of my batterys.. winter time inside on a trickle.. etc and this one lasted six years).. But dam have they gone up in price.. Pictures soon... Thanks again, Joe

Glad to hear we got there in the end, it's not so easy from 3000mls away   These aftermarket switches seem to be a bit of a nightmare (that's two different combinations so far !)

Very happy for the help...if someone could actually restore the originals I certainly would look to them. There probably is someplace that does. I have not had this many issues in the past builds. Wookie58... I much appreciate the help. If you ever need anything.. do not hesitate to ask. Joe

Did Dennis Murry made the X-pipe exclusive for you only or will he made a small batch of pipes for sale?

I had heard the storys about the fact that he would only make a small batch or would not make them at all. I heard storys about he would have to set up all new jigs etc.Honestly I called and got no answer... then I simply emailed him explaining what I wanted. He took two months to answer. Then it took another month. He asked if I wanted his finish on it in black or silver. Next year I will probably send it out to Jet coat and have it finished in there black as his is closer to a very dark gray. I have his spider pipe finished in chrome on my other bike.I have wanted a Murray X pipe forever as a good friend has one on his bike. Unmistakable sound coming down the road. Cant wait to finish this bike.

Joe, I feel your pain using the aftermarket harness, I'm just now getting my feet wet on a rewire, I can't believe they used such small wire on the new harness for the white/batt wire. Here's a pic of my mess.

Moose you you will be fine, they are only wires   but seriously you look like you have a good jump on it with the labelling, any problems I will assist where I can. If you are concerned about the wire gauge fit a By-pass relay for the coils. This will at least give you a good spark and the rest of the bike will have a fighting chance

Thanks Wookie ! I'm marking my old harness before I remove it and marking the new harness before install, I did the Wired George mod over 20 years ago but the Batt./white wire supplied in the new harness seems to be 18 gauge where the stock looks like 14 gauge going to a 20 amp main fuse.

Joe, I hope you don't mind me sharing my pain in your thread but I've been using it to deal with my frustration.
