New aftermarket controls and main harness. Two female brown with white dots coming out of main loom. I assume both to power feeds? Two black male one out of loom and one out of control...I again assume these two black wires to clutch switch? Orange and green wire out of main loom... I believe this goes to hazard ( although I did not order new control with the red hazard button) One last question about the clutch switch.... I am installing a new dyna 2000.. on my other bike I have a dyna2000 and separate rev limiter and a shift minder. If i remember correctly the two black ends on the clutch switch connected to either the separate rev limiter or the minder(cant remember which) on this bike I should be fine with just the normal connectors going to correct ends on the harnesses?...as I am not using a two step or minder on this bike. Thanks in advance. Joe

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

The double female brown is a spare power source. The black out of the left control goes to the horn. There should be a brown out of the loom that also goes to the horn.
Check out the wiring diagrams at another location on this site.

Thank you, I have several wiring diagrams. Looks like i have a separate longer brown and black/white stripe that connects to the horn. What is confusing is these extra wires coming out of the loom...blue/white...black/white...orange/green ...two separate brown/white dots..all female connections...one black male connector...each control still has one solid blue male end on each .One red and tan into one. I suspect maybe this main harness isnt for a ltd "B" and that is why the diagram isnt helping me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks again, Joe

Rivman you don't say where in the world you are, is the bike US or European spec ? do you have any pictures of the wires coming out of the new controls (aftermarket don't always match colours)

Are you sure your new loom is specifically made for a '78 KZ1000?
Some guidelines to help....
Orange/Green is normally the connection wires to the flasher(s). There may also be one brown of the 4 wires to the flashers. Gray and green are signals. Black/yellow is ground. Headlight should be red/black and red/yellow, plus a black/yellow ground.
Wires coming out of the middle of the loom will connect to something nearby, like the rear brake switch or the horn. if you have a loose male bullet connector look for an open female connector nearby. Try to match each colour to the same colour on the connection.
If you have a solid blue coming out of each control they should be joined.

Hardrockminer... I have the hazards connected to the flashers... those are already hooked up.. so is everything in the headlight.... so is the horn. I am aware of the two blue coming out of the connectors and will connect them. The picture shows what is left from both controls and the main loom. That is only what I am trying to figure out. I really believe I have a different kz1000 harness that is not specific to my LTD. I do appreciate the help.

Street Fighter LTD.. The harness is new aftermarket non kawasaki factory. It is supposed to be a 1978 KZ1000 harness though... I am just trying to figure out these extra wires. I do have the original... of course those all match perfectly... but the main harness is weathered pretty good. That was the reason for replacement. Thanks for the help. Joe
