Steve, I thought about using a large strap to hold dynamo rotor. Does the rotor bolt turn counterclockwise ( lefty loosey ) to loosen and remove ? It appears to be a 16mm bolt Flywheel puller needed to remove the dynamo rotor. I'm assuming you turn that bolt/puller clockwise ( to the right ) to remove the rotor?

Yes, it is 16mm. The one in the middle of your triple clamps fits it. The rotor spins counter clock wise so it tightens clock wise just like a normal bolt. Like on wheel bolts. they tighten in the same direction as the wheel or in this case rotor turns so they don't loosen, if anything they'll get tighter without a cotter pin. You might try the bolt before you buy a tool. It just might work.

As for the dampener, reuse it.

Once the rotor bolt is removed, is there a TRICK in removing the rotor ? I read on one of the Post to make a round bearing to place between the crank end and puller bolt to assist in removal of the rotor ? Any information on that and how that would provide more leverage ?

Sometimes it's not needed. If the bolt won't go in far enough it will help. It also helps in turning the bolt. A 3/8" ball bearing you get at the hardware store is easy to come by.

Steve, Beginning to see the picture more clearly as you have responded to this Post. I'll look and see if i can find that size Ball Bearing at a Hardware or Automotive Store ?

Hardware store. It needs to be large enough as not to mung up the threads of the retaining bolt. 3/8's should do it.

They are hardened to some degree. They're bearings. Have you just tried the bolt first?

Steve, Are you Sure it's a 3/8" Ball Bearing you use ? 16mm bolt equals 5/8" .

It doesn't have to be 5/8 in fact you don't want to mung up the threads on the rotor ether. Also if too big there won't be enough threads to grab onto. Have you tried just the bolt? Generally I don't need the ball.
