Hi Angel, the video is not available. You will need to first post it to a media service such as YouTube (if you have an account). Afterwards, you can edit your prior post and delete the file attachment section. Replace it with a video link (choose the video link icon when you are in edit mode at the top of the text editing window). Paste the link in at resubmit your post. The video link should show on your post. You can keep editing your prior post until you can get it to work. Good luck.

q) what file format is recommended riders?

here is the second video two weeks later, that i made after checking/adjusting
the leaky carbs by the 'clear tube method', thank you for helping me with this.

A big caution about using a glass bodied fuel filter! Many a bike and car fire has been caused by the glass body being cracked from vibration, and then dripping down by a hot engine.

I'd hate to read that all the time and effort you've put in the bike went up in a fire.....

See if you can post up your video on you-tube, and then link it here.
Glass, and plastic, both types can be a disaster. Watch out where you mount either, vibration, heat, contacting a surface, etc. You can melt, or where a hole in a Fuel line or filter pretty easy.
Hope the bike is running well. Did you get the Ignition timing figured out Angel?

hi motorhead :-)

good to hear from you!

i've some probs at my end.
tek gave some sound advice about fuel
in my engine. asked me to smell my
oil filler cap. this smells like a cup of
fuel. so the fuel from the carbs, before
the 'clear tubes' contaminated my engine
oil. i can't get engine oil for my bike, where
i live. i've ordered some gulf semi synth
track oil. i will then change the oil/filter.

i can then have a look again at the timing.
the bike starts immediately, nothing leaks.
three pipes are hot, one warm/just.

i've been concerned about the fuel in the
oil. i'm just waiting for the new oil/filter-monday.

well the glass inline fuel filter looked suitable
for the job. i never thought about the
glass breaking. i assumed that it was
toughened glass, that wouldn't break.
i'm sending it back.

just won a pingel and adapter on
ebay, bargain price. mfolks says these
are good.

many thanks

Angie

ps: i will use utube to post eric's startup!
thanks motorhead!

I see the video that Patton was kind enough to post, but the other is not there. The one sounds like it is running on three cylinders, Idle way to high and possibly to much valve clearance. There is a bit of metallic sound, possibly from to much valve clearance. One of the three cylinders sound to be not running at all. This would be the one you refer to as Cold to the touch on the exhaust pipe. Try to drop the Idle speed adjustment screw to get the Idle closer to 1000 RPM, then attempt to find where or why it is not running on that cylinder. Could possibly be a vacuum leak, have you got a plug or connection to each of the four vacuum nipples at the intake manifolds? Maybe spray some carb cleaner around the intakes, once you have the Idle down a bit lower. It should change RPM, smooth out and increase when sprayed where there might be a vacuum leak. The vacuum leak would be pulling air with no fuel, causing it not to run. Or maybe the cylinder is not getting fuel through the low speed/ pilot circuit? Maybe it is possible that the spark plug has fouled, from to much Petrol? Was that the cylinder that the carb was overflowing/ leaking? I would double check the compression also.
