Dyna 2000 Electronic Ignition & Coils DDK2-2C KZ65

I found that my I C Igniter has gone bad on my 1982 KZ750 LTD H3 . My bike has the original ignition system on it . I am thinking this is probably the first of the system to fail and next will be the pick ups or the coils . I looked on Z1 " www.z1enterprises.com/Dyna-2000-Electron...Z650-KZ750-1656.aspx " and I am thinking if this will up grade the whole system and save me some cash . I have never done this before and Z1 has not gotten back with me with my question yet . Will this replace my Igniter along with my coils and pickups ? If this will do it I am thinking that after I get the bike going with it I should had vary little worry s about my ignition system for a while and the next up grade could be my charging system since that is original also but one thing at a time . Any thoughts ?

It will definitely upgrade the system. I believe to an unnecessary degree. Why don't you just build a Dual GM CDI ignition for about $60 total, from Lou's drawings. You can get the parts at Radio Shack and any auto supply store. I bought the modules at Advanced Auto Supply for about $25 each His system is better and more durrable than the OE system and quite inexpensive. It is an outstanding system. It works with ALL Kawasaki Four cylinder bikes. You can also upgrade with the same Gray coils as the Dyna2000 uses.

I forgot I seen that !!! I will save the file once my laptop settles down . Thanks SOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUTCH . When I found out that my igniter was bad it felt like it was the end of the world do to lack of cash .

I hate to ask but my computer is not wanting to pint or save the pic as a file . Is there a file some where I can down load and save for this ? And is there certain GM parts I will need ? Like part numbers ? Or did I miss that on the pic? Sorry If I did .

I wish there was a version of that diagram for retards such as myself. Im so lost when it comes to electrical wiring of any kind.

If you go the Dyna route, I'd suggest the Dyna S over the Dyna 2000 at this point. Dyna 2000s are for race bikes.

When mounting the modules, make sure to use thermal or heatsink compound between the aluminum plate and the module. It ensures good heat transfer, just a thin film is about all you'll need.

Radio Shack sells a "Artic Siver" in a small easy to use container.

The Dyna S is only better than the stock points. The OE Kawasaki ignition is A LOT better than the Dyna S and the Lou-Ignitor is even better.

...point being that the Dyna 2000 would be extreme overkill for his use.
