Kind of late to comment, but for sure don't buy the Motion Pro tool. It's by far the worst piece of utter crap ever. The old mercury Stix were great, but that new tool?
My experience: Install the restrictors. I knew before I even hooked up to the motorcycle, no way, as the holes are like .020". Won't these clog instantly? Answer is yes. One was terminal and plugged so I got readings from only 3 cylinder, and all 3 had bubbles of air. Shake the tool is the process for removing bubbles. This did zero. Finally trying to initially get the tool ready enough to use I had the adjustment screws nearly bottom out in a couple of the tubes, no adjustment in one, and one that would not register at all. Garbage. They sent me a new Chinese replacement. I never tried it, but it sat in the house for a couple years because this "tool" is too fragile to leave in the cold. All the liquid had evaporated before the first try, so into the trash. Most Motion Pro stuff is Chinese Garbage, but this was the worst.
The Morgan Carb Tune works fine.
This has been several years ago, so maybe the Motion Pro tool is better now, but my advice is don't buy.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Sorry I was super busy in the last few weeks and almost forgot to report (funny how work always gets in the way!)

On your advice, I splurged on the 4-channel Carbtune. I was rather easy to setup. I see that some of you didn't the full instructions on the dampening. Essentially, the Carbtune has simple narrow plastic tube that you insert in the ruber line at 90cm minimum from the engine. This is sufficient to prevent the steel bars from dancing around.

I first used the Carbtune on my 81 Honda CX500 (two cylinders) before moving on the the KZ. I followed the direction to sync the cylinders together then the pairs. And maybe I over did it, but I then permutated the tubes a bunch of time for comparison between all cylinders.

So overall, i'm pretty happy. Thanks again guys!
