These carbs were never separated or "unganged" as is said around here. We pulled the jets out of them before they went in a big ultrasonic tank at a dealership and I missed putting the small jet pieces back in on reassembly.
I bought a 1981 GPz550 brand new in 1981. I know about the choke flap issue.
I'm sorry that the bike running great now that those two small jets are installed is a problem. You have been a big help on all my bikes so please accept my thanks.

Main thing is you got it figured out. This thread has been going on for a while. You must be Happy to have got it figured out. Enjoy the ride.I had an 83 that I bought that someone had left the little plastic plugs out of the carbs. Took me a while to figure that one out. Once I did it ran mint.
