Vm26ss emulsion tube and needle jet was created by vict182
Hello everyone

I am assembling a rack of vm26ss which i don't know where they came from, and i am aware there are a lot of variations of them

I am assembling them with leftover parts from other racks

Now i am stuck because i noticed something strange to me

The needle jets after some effort to insert them straight into their holes they are some kind of loose, they are able to move a couple of millimeters up and down, even after installing the emulsion tubes, which i hand tight if its correct

So my question is, is it normal that the needle jets are able to move up and down 2 millimeters?
Of course with gravity they seat on top of the emulsion tube but potentially they could raise 2 millimeters with vibrations or due tu depression inside the venturi during use

Thank you all for reading

Cheers

Sorry but I'm not following your terminology. As far as I know the VM26's don't use emulsion tubes. Are you referring to the bleed pipes? Assuming yes, since they are similar, it could be you have the wrong needle jets. There are a couple of different types. If you post up some photos of the needle jets along with information as to whether the carbs use pilot air screws or pilot fuel screws then I (or someone else) may be able to help.

Oh ok sorry when i said emulsion tube i meant main jet holder or bleed pipe. Been searching information on internet and that part have so many different names

I attached pictures of the bleed pipe and the needle jet

I found out there is also a different type of bleed pipe without oring which i attached too with it's part number, taken from google, unaware of that pipe lenght

Looks like your needle jets are missing on top of the emulsion tube/needle Jet holder, part#45.

I left you a message on Facebook requesting information on the needle jet you are using. I suspect it's the wrong one.

The VM26SS carburetors were used from 1976 to 1978 in different configurations and with different needle jets. Could you post some photos of the carburetors so that we can identify which version you are working with?

The needle jet i am working with are the one in the palm of my hand in the picture above

Code stamped on it is 250 - mikuni square symbol - 0-6

On the carburetors i found the codes in the next pictures which are Z12 00 on one side of the flange and R 55 on the other side

Forgot to mention, they have the air idle screw, the ones on the side of the body on the airbox side

Please click "insert" on your photos so they show up in high resolution instead of tiny thumbnails.

The bleed pipe that takes the O-ring uses the -1009 needle jet
The bleed pipe w/o the O-ring uses the -1003 needle jet

Vict from the information i have gathered from yourself and Neil you have vm26s from the earlier models, which makes the needle jet you have pictured the wrong type along with the bleed pipe, you need the other types of needle jet and bleed pipe, if you are in the UK Allens will do the jets, but they are not cheap.

Thank you very much

I will quit assembling that rack for now, awaiting to find and buy a set of correct needle jets and bleed pipes

I am located in Italy

I will keep an eye on ebay awaiting to find those parts

Just to have more chances, are those parts i need (needle jets and bleed pipes) the same that fits the vm28sc used on 72/75 z1 900?

The needles and needle jets from 73 to 75 are different. I think the pilot jets would be the same but I'm not sure about the emulsion tube. If you check Partzilla you can compare part numbers to see what parts are the same.
