Removal of Emission Control on KZ1000 Police

I'm not sure if the air switch valve is working anymore. What parts do you remove? Do you replace carb. vacuum hoses with plugs?
What happens to these reed valves? They just suck in air from the outside?
Lastly - is it going to mess up how my carbs are working?
Thanks!

Plug hole in airbox... on my KZP I measured the hole, went to Ace and bought plastic plug to fit and epoxied it in there. Done. It will not make a difference as to how the bike runs, but WILL clean up the top of the engine.
+1
If you want to eliminate the hose and the fittings, APE makes some nice block off plates.

The sexiest option is to install a Canadian or European cam cover that never had the system.

Here's an example of THE cam cover suggested by TexasKZ...

I also capped the vacuum intake on carb #1 and the vacuum hose to the petcock is on #2. I also capped 3 & 4.
Then I blocked off the intake into the airbox by "siliconing" a piece of the hose in there.
My question is: Did I do everything correctly to eliminate the emissions stuff?
I also had a question about the overflow tube on the gas tank. Should there be any airflow through that? I tried pulling air through it and blowing through it but no dice!
