750 twin air box compatibility was created by Skullcrusher
Hey all, new member here. I used the search function but couldn't turn up an answer so I'm starting a thread. If the answer was buried in the archives somewhere I apologize.

Just traded a pistol for a non running 82 750 CSR and after doing some very basic stuff got it fired up. The air box is gone and it has those cheap emgo pods and still has stock jetting. I can't find an 82 air box online but there's a guy on Facebook that has a 76-79 box. My question is: will it fit?

Bikes: 82 kz750 CSR, 03 Suzuki gsf1200s (stage 2), 73 CB 750 bored to 849, big cam, ports head, big valves, lots of other goodies....

I know the carbs are different so the mating tube will not be the same diameter. A parts explosion will probably show if the mounting tabs are the same. Air cleaners are different size too. Partszilla has the drawings.

Any advice on petcock rebuild kits? Can't seem to find one specifically for the kz750 CSR.

The frame is different on the CSR twins so the airbox is different. according to partzilla the petcock is the same as the later kz400, kz440 and kz550 so you can use that to search as well. you might try one of these. www.amazon.com/Valve-Petcock-KAWASAKI-KZ...iveASIN%3DB00B4XDO8M

Ya dont. Plug the vacuum ports and go with an after market. The OE petcocks are a PITA. ;)

Assuming your bike is a 1982 KZ750-M1 (CSR) twin according to www.powersportswarehouse.com/p/Kawasaki#...0-M1-1982/080102C-11 the following bikes share you model's airbox (part #11010-1158) :

KZ750-K1 LTD Belt (1983)
KZ750-K2 KZ750-K2 (Canada Only) (1984)
KZ750-M1 CSR Twin (1982)

Awesome, found a complete box on eBay. Boots are rotted but otherwise good.

All the aftermarket petcocks are knockoff's of knockoff's. Ebay is full of them and I doubt even Kawi/Yammy/Zook branded with labels are even true Jap quality. Few last very long so plan to keep a new one on hand just like spare fuel line and filters.

One other thought on your airbox. Make sure you get the rings on the housing. The rubber tubes will most likely be unusable and irreplaceable but there is a work around for that. You may get lucky and still be able to use the ones that come with it but chances are they won't last for long.

What is the work around? Radiator hoses?
