My Kz550 carbs aren't sucking enough gas was created by PABCASSOINK 32
Ok so I turned my 1982 Kawasaki KZ 550 LTD into a bobber , chopped the rear frame, lowered it, all of that good stuff. But now I see that my fuel filter isn't filling up with gas which causes it not to start since the lack of gas flowing through. I tried messing with the petcock valve and choking it and still nothing. I recently rebuild my carbs so I'm not sure if that might be the problem but I need help !

Have you checked the filters on the petcock inside the tank? Sounds like it's a petcock issue.

- good luck

Did you reconnect the vacuum line to the petcock and to the proper vacuum port on one of the carbs?

Are you sure that the filter is for a gravity feed system and not for one with a pump?

Fuel tank must vent, usually through a passageway in the cap.

The fillter to the petcock valve seems to be clear and it's the original valve. It have the vacuum line that come out the back of the petcock to the carbs. I'm not use if my tank has a vent by the cap tho, gas is able to leak out of it if I flip it over so there most be some type of air flow. All it does is drip in the filter when it use to be completely filled.

Petcock may be stuck. May need to clean it and replace the o rings.

Disconnect the fuel lines and see how they flow. Do the same with the float bowls.
