What parts are you missing on your airbox? :You might be able to find replacements here or on ebay.

Yeah, I've always liked the look of the pods behind the carbs. Kinda' like velocity stacks on a muscle car but geez the headaches of having to retune the whole dang rig and possibly multiple times before you get it "right"... Suddenly that ol' stock air box looks mighty cool too!

BTW, the air box may have "L" shaped brackets to secure the box to the frame (behind the side covers). My 550 does. Loosening those L brackets or temporarily removing them will let you slip the air box backwards, away from intake manifolds and give you a little more wiggle room. I got that tip from another member here just *after* I struggled for what felt like hours installing my cleaned carbs.

Now I have to take them back out because it seems those pesky old intake boots/manifolds are leaky. A set from Z1 cost me a Benjamin but at least he had them (couldn't find any on ebay 'cept used ones), soft and new, made in Japan even and with vacuum ports for sync later.. woot!

looks like I'm missing just the connector tube dealy-os that go from the box to the carbs. looks like ebayers want no less than 20$ a piece for the tubes - found a complete airbox assembly for 40 - I'll take what I need from it and probably put it back up

You can buy the air hose new for $40 from Z1. Also, the air box can be moved UP, not just back and you get a better area to stuff the carbs in. R

You dint want old and crusty boots. They might leak and they're more like hard plastic than rubber which makes carb installation even harder.
