I looked at all the pics. & knew they were 29s, no such thing as 22's, I clicked on the buy it now & he sent them out within a few hrs.
the next day I get a message from him thru e-bay saying he misrepresented the carbs & when I receive them to send them back & he would reimburse me my money & shipping both ways, I just laughed to myself & replied , I think I can still use them & I'm going to keep them,   so I got them for 300.00 + 18.00 for shipping

Lucky! I won a set on eBay a few years ago for under $200 and they wouldn't ship them. Seller claimed to be a woman listing the carbs for her husband and forgot to put a reserve on it. What a bunch of BS! Thought I had a set of 29 smoothies for a great price. I reported them but I'm sure it was no big deal.....

Peter will find that low VIN Z1 someday to restore, He'll have the carbs waiting.
Or let "OINK" sell em, He'll get $2500 for them.
Reminds me of 3-4 years ago. gold was selling @ $1980 an ounce. WOW me and the woman sold our gold! Scored good!
And I have about $100 in silver coin in the safe. She said sell, I said, I am going to wait till silver hits $50 oz. silver was selling
for $48 the same day. It was a Friday. Monday silver tanked down to $30 oz. and has slid ever since. Now it's $14oz.
Will us Guys around 60 yrs. old see the Z1 market grow still? Or fade as the years go by?

Back to the carbs. The 28's were a pain in the ass to tune. They were cold blooded, took a good 20 minutes to run smooth.
That thin stainless beam was always twisting and bending. Thats why the factory kept changing the carbs. every year. The Z1 72-75 had 4 or 5 versions.
Then came the 76 26mm's. They are about the best stock carb. And the factory still messed with them. 77 with that stupid needle adjuster underneath. Then they leaned em out with small jets. Then they needed the accelerator pump.
Old carbs are for correct restorations.
I always used the mikuni 37.5mm super pro carbs for drag racing on 1075 & 1260 engines. 4 cables sucked! Had to fit em in touching at a little angle in the rubber manifolds. That was Old School at it's best.

My 28's were fine. Yeah I'd have to sync them once in a while. When I got my 33's I thought I was better off. What little I gained in performance was offset by hassle. :S

The prices do seem to be coming down lately...could be just a winter lull but hopefully not. Fingers crossed.
