Pumper carb taking a leak

With the petcock on, every 8 minutes or so, the carb with the accelerator pump spews about an ounce of gas out of its overflow. It just pours out for a few seconds and then quits. When I turn the petcock off, it seems to not do this - at least it hasn't for the last hour. It has done this since I got the bike a few weeks ago.

Today, i decided to go through the carbs and fix a few things to see if the problem would go away, but no joy:
  • Replaced the accelerator pump diaphragms - they were trashed (cracked, rigid and gas was leaking from them).
  • Replaced a missing check valve on the right-most carb - I used the one that came in the accelerator pump kit.
  • Set the floats - using the clear bowl method.
  • Polished all the float valve seats - two of the carbs were leaking from their overflow and this stopped the leaks.

Thanks

Have you checked the leaky carb for tiny cracks in the overflow tube?

If the tang on the float is bent at too much of a angle, the needle will be cocked to one side and not seal completely.

I found this after you gave the idea of a cracked overflow.

I will check mine later.

They should be level. Meant for fine adjustments. Try bending the arms slightly to get them close then fine adjust with the tangs. Also do the float test with the floats in water. If one is heavier than the others, that could be your culprit.

Thanks Steve and TexasKZ,
I won't be able to check the tangs and the overflow tubes till I get back this weekend. In the meantime, I forgot to mention one thing I noticed and that is a leak in the fuel input fitting that feeds the left two carbs (see pic). If the fuel line is leaned to the right, fuel leaks from here. Could this be causing the periodic dumping of fuel from the second carb's overflow? Is this leaky fitting an easy fix?

Then don't push there. Could be a O ring dried out. If it's the one piece type, that might be a problem. It won't cause your fuel dump issue though.
