OEM carburetor was created by oldie
Hello all can someone please tell me what size and type (CV or slide) the original caburetor may have been for a 1982 kz250ltd. I recently aquired a 1982 in kz250 in decent shape but think the carb may be beyond repair and another person has it so I can't see it right now. wondering what size the carb must or can be (mm) and what might be utilized as a replacement if necessary.
Thanks.

Check eBay to see if there is one listed. You WILL need a manual and all that information will be in it.

The 1980 KZ250 LTD (single) came with a 32mm cv carb (see link below), so it is possbile the '82 came with the same. Ed

Hi ed that's sort of what I figured but wanted to be sure, and even a manual unless year specific will only give you several options depending on the bike. I'm still hopefully to obtain the OEM carb from the person who has it if not just to verify what came with it to also hopefully in necessary locate a rebuildable one

The FSM I have covers the z250 and z305 bikes and it has listings for the 82 250A4 and B3 models but not the LTD model. It indicates that both of those models came stock with 2 Kihein CV32 carbs

Those would be the 2-cylinder KZ250 models. The LTD (KZ250-C) is the single cylinder model. Ed

Hi , thanks for the reply I now have the carburetor but it came missing the needle valve, float and screws to hold the float bowl on, and may require the slider/diaphragm to be replaced, otherwise it appears with cleaning and missing parts it may be functional again. Not sure where I can obtain the missing parts.

Hi gd4now my bike is a single, and I have the carb that apparently was on the bike but came somewhat apart missing the float, needle valve, and the 4 screws holding the float bowl on. With cleaning and the missing parts I'm confident this carb will function again. Not exactly sure where to obtain missing parts have number from the body of the carb as well.

Hi 650ed, I now have the presumed carburetor that came with the bike, albeit it came apart, missing a few parts such as; the float, needle valve, and then screws that hold the float bowl on. The slider/diaphragm may have to be replaced as well. Not exactly sure where to obtain missing parts.

screws - easy, off the shelf metric

needle valve assembly- usually available as a pattern part in a carb rebuild kit.

Diapragm - expensive, this is who I use www.nrp-carbs.co.uk

Float - that might take some searching

Maybe cheaper to see if you can find a spare set, the CV 32's were on the 600 water cooled Ninjas too.
