Not at all baldy - i am man enough to admit when i am wrong . No stress ,but i am a cranky bastard - pain and lack of sleep does that. Luckily i dont have to store my bike here for winter. Questions are good - used to ask my father so many questions it got to the point of annoying the crap out of him. ;)

If you keep your carbs in shape, there is no need for keeping it level whatsoever
My 78 has had the centerstand on about 3 times in it's lifespan and that was during winter rebuilds
Never had any problem with fuel fouling
Oh and scrap the vacuum petcocks they are junk and rebuild kits are even junkier

My carbs are in perfect shape but still prefer a level playing field not just for fuel -
what do you mean fuel fouling ?
getting crap in there ?
Never had a worry with vacumn taps.
Good fun to change rear tyre without a stand - do u use a jack or race stand ? :)

Just checking the oil level without a center stand could be fun. Ed

Wouldn't like to try it with a 1300 if you lost your balance - now that would be nasty :)

Fuel fouling the #1 & #2 Cylinder due to the bike leaning that way, I've seen comments to such effect, although have never experienced it
For tire replacement and chain adjustment I use a jack
If you ever drag the left side foot hoop on asphalt at about 90MPH it will get your attention fast  , took it off as soon as possible sometime in 1979 and haven't rode with one since and have never missed it

ez - never had fuel fouling 1 and 2 either - used just side stand for many years long ago.
Have had the rear wheel lift a few inches once from a farking great lump in the road doing about 40 - that did get my attention but that was on my old 900 honda - big daggy centrestand on it that stuck out a mile.
One on Zephyr tucks up very neatly out of way - never a worry ;)
