I am just thinking the move to the stand may make the float hang up.Can have the bike straight up and fuel runs out the mouth of the carb. That is a long ways past the bowl parting line. Shutting the petcock only keeps gas from running out when parked. It does not prevent the cylinder from being flooded when going down the road. The problem is intermittent. Thanks for the comments.

One other thing, it is only the number 1 carb.

Have you swapped needle/seats from another carb to see if it still leaks? Float swap?
If it still leaks it sounds like a cracked carb body. Possibly where the seat mounts in the body.

I had not thought of nor do I want to think of that! That is my next plan though to swap float and needle/seat assembly tween 1 and 4. It is not. I repeat,it is not a cracked carb ;)

In-line filter? Tank cleaned also?
With them off on your carb stand, pull the bowl and hold the float up with your fuel bottle/ source connected. You should see the leak, if at the float valve I would Replace it.

Looks like it is the needle/seat. Swapped 1 and 4 and the slow, steady drip moved to 4. Now if I can remember my Z1 login  I was thinking it might be the gasket so I but the seat into the hose on the end of my auxiliary tank and it seeped. Polished it up good to no avail. Thanks all.

With the Web Site change, you need to re-register and set up another account at Z1. Easy to do, and all is still very good with the service.

You can swap them out without removing carbs from bike if you dont mind laying on the floor, saves lots of work pulling/reinstalling carbs.
If your gaskets are still good smear a little chapstick on them to keep them from drying out/sticking B)

Gonna try that chapstick trick, thanks. I got them on the bench. I am going to do everything I can to make sure they work brfore going back on. It is a piece of cake though compared to the carbs on my Concourse.

They don't have a lot of use on them but a lot of age.

I already did it! Maybe got the idea from you. I know I seen the dual clock/voltage pics before. You belong to the ZG Fanatics forum too?
