carb problems...locked up

well today before i installed my carbs i tried to manualy move the throttle body and it wouldnt budge. is it something inside frozen? should i take out the bottom end of them and spray with wd, or bolt losner? when i was givin the carbs i was told they need a rebuild whitch i will get to, but for now i just wanna see if the motor runs before i dump any $. thanks

btw its a kz1000 LTD

I have had the butterfly valves stick a couple times, and also the slides. Both were due to varnish build up, completely seizing the parts. Carburetor cleaner spray directly on the slides and butterfly valves loosened it right up. WD40 also works.

well i took the carbs off and sprayed with wd40. letting them sit for a few.......

cool, i just took the tops and bottoms off my carbs. the floats should move freely right? there are stuck. i sprayed with wd40....not sure how to free these babies up.

Yes the floats should move "very freely" How to loosen them up? Not to be facetious, but very carefully. You brake anything down there, or for that matter bend anything and you are screwed and will be in the market for a new set of carbs. I would say to get a big can of carburetor cleaner and soak the whole lower part of the rack in a shoe box sized "Tupper-Ware" container.

It might work but I think it's quite a bit more expensive and it will not dissolve everything. If you wish you can add some of it to the "Mystery Oil" to help lubricate after penetration.
