so the carbs are 77? ok.....then i need to get a carb kit for that. im glad this forum is here because i dont know what the guy who had this before did. imo he wanted to make it a drag bike and never got around to it.

the floats are freeing up some with time and wd. im sure the carb cleaner will kick it in the butt....i hope. what do i need to know about these carbs? anything special?

Since you have a header and I am presuming no air box and you will be using Pod filters you will also require 116 main jets. Use the kit that I posted in my last link/post, and also buy the 115 jets from them. Z1E is the best place to buy parts for our bikes.

Yes you will require additional jets. the reason is because the kit only comes with the stock jet sizes. you will have to go about 3 sizes larger to accommodate the lack of the airbox and the VH header you have.

Just keep checking them periodically, like every couple hours. They need to be shiney new, and free of all debris.

The compressed air is always a good idea.

Remember to completely dissasemble the portions of the carbs subjected to dunking/carb cleaner sprays, as they destroy rubber/o-rings.

Good luck.
