Yep, thats the idles adjustment screw. It is located just below the fuel T. This is the T junction where the gas enters the carbs between #s 2 nd 3. I would advise that you maybe take the gas tank off and have a look in that area. I dont think it will be a difficult fix

Check your petcock, with these older bikes the inards of the petcock dry out and will cause the carbs to leak fuel.

okay cool. Is it necessary to have a prime option on the bike or can I do away with it all and just get a replacement that has an on, off, and reserve instead?
Sounds easier to me and a definite cut-off from the gas line. No worry about leaks or bad vacuum seals....

You can install a manual fuel valve no problem.

Yep, after riding for about 25 min to a friends house we started to drain the oil and thats when I realized my 1st carb was leaking through the vent into the air box. I lost 2 gallons because of that. Had enough gas to get home and ran it pretty dry.
yay, no leaks.... til I add some more fuel....
This sucks.
