my bs34's dont have float bowl vents. i dont really know where they are supposed to vent to. they also dont have the rounded bottom on the slides like those. it is just flat across the bottom.

The vent tubes on my KZ650 simply run up and back under the air filter baffle plate then hang down in the air filter tube (cap) in the airbox. That's how it was when new. Ed

ok so my vents are not plugged then.
the bowls just vent directly into the airbox.

Some carbs have a small removeable air jet that meters air allowed into the pilot circuit.

Where so fitted, such jet should be in perfect as new condition, unclogged and undamaged. Otherwise, insufficient air is allowed into the pilot circuit which results in an excessively rich fuel mixture in the pilot circuit.

Good Luck! :)

mine doesnt have the slot in it so i am not sure that it is removable.

i just put a new petcock rebuild kit in my vacuum petcock and new float valves and seats. i still have the problem where when it is parked gas will overflow out of the carbs. any ideas here. i have a fuel filter so it shouldnt be crap getting stuck in there.

also the plug that go over my pilot jet dont fit snugly. they are fairly loose in there. is this going to be a problem? they are loose in all 4 carbs but i am only having trouble with 1. i cant find replacements for these. maybe i could find some orings at a hardware store.

All four carbs, or just #4? Did you examine your floats closely (bent/nicked guide pin(s))

i dont know which carb is leaking. they are brand new float needles and the pins all appeared to be straight and move freely.

Any slot in other three carbs?

Perhaps the slots have been twisted away. :pinch:

how critical is the seal on the plug over the pilot jet?
i am going to try to find some orings i can put in there. buying them new from kawasaki is expensive.

Could determine which carb by placing a separate catch jar at each overflow tube exit underneath the bike.

Or detach tubes from overflow nipples and watch for escaping fuel.

Good Luck! :)
