I found a 1 place that would sell them used for $6.00 ea. I found 1 on ebay for $29.00 and found place online that had three and another that had six new. They were listed between $6 & $7 dollars. I would be more than happy to pick some up from the vintage store if anyone is hard up. This guy had isles of mikuni's that he said I could rip apart. I wouldnt mind grabbing myself an extra set while im there. I might even start my own little grommet business:woohoo:

I am having the same issues with these grommets. I have found a company www.lakeviewindustries.com , which manufactures but does not sell directly to the public, a grommet (item number 11495B600) which is pretty close in dimensions. Here are the specs:

Inner dia. 1/2 in (Note: I took my shaft to ACE hardware and tried a grommet with a 1/2 in dia. Fit nicely. But that was the only dimension which matched. But this told me that 1/2 inch works.)

grove dia. 13/16 in.
outer dia. 1 and 1/16 in. A bit larger put who cares since it won't effect function part of the fit.

Looking from the side of the grommet.

grove width 3/16 in.
overall thickness 7/16 in. Once again this measurement is not a factor in the fit.

I have ordered through a local vendor (national chain) called fastenal. Should be getting them in a couple of days to try. Cost me about $10 bucks for 6 of them since he had to have them shipped from another fastenal store. Will let you know how it works out.

Cheers!

I spent about a month trying to track these down. After many calls to bike clubs, vendors, Overseas, I finally found them at a local cycle salvage. Turns out the mikuni carbs were quite popular in the last 40 years. I walked out with all six and a few spares for 5 bucks.

Be cautioned the oem rubber has a thin diaphragm that creates a seal around the rod.

Yes, Calvin. I have noticed the thin membrane like diaphragm on mine as well. I felt I had no other choice but to try these ones I ordered. Not sure if it is going to work. If it works, it should idle steady and have a steady rpm when driving at a constant speed. If they leak, I think the rpm's will fluctuate. Or at the least it will run lean. If unsuccessful, maybe I can get some contact information from the place you got yours. I have new brass fuel tee's coming as well. I should have it resembled by this weekend. I know the bike is good electrically since I was able to spray starting fluid in each carb (prior to the rebuild) and it would roar to life for a couple of seconds. I will post the results once I have some results.

Cheers!

P.S. How is your bike running now? Did the new grommets do the trick?
