As soft as this stuff is, I don't think it would even clog a filter. It seems to disolve almost immediately when handled and might disolve in gasoline too, not sure. It seems to have formed in the bowls rather than traveling from the tank, but I can't know for sure. The screens on the petcocks were clear, by the way. I pulled those out and would have noticed if they were clogged up. I run dual pingels, one on each side.
I'll take a better look at the tank and see if the liner looks OK. I can only hope it was the stabil and not the liner. The stabil I used is definitely pretty old, I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I did empty the tank a few weeks ago and never noticed anthing out of the ordinary. I run dual inlets and each has a filter with a cleanable brass element. I'll pull the filters and take a look.

I have have had little luck with lined tanks...with both normally aspirated bikes and FI bikes...I usually end up getting a new tank...the lining does dissolve and you should see what it does to fuel injectors and the head and valve stems of a FI bike:laugh:

I coated the tank with kreem liner and it held up really well for 15 years, no problems. When I decided to rebuild this bike again, I wanted to have the tank redone since the kreem was so old. I went to a professional "gas tank renu" franchise and had it done, hoping it would be as advertised. It might be the liner, but I sure hope not.

I actually contacted the franchise dealer here in Texas about the 'gastankrenu' and he quoted me US$250 and he'd have to cut 8 to 10 holes in the bottom of the tank (which he promised to weld up) to get even coverage. I declined (and not because of the price either:) )

They only charged me $100 here in my area and had to cut a hole about 2" in diameter on each side of the tank bottom. They were soldered / welded back up and can't be seen. The coating looks really good - I just hope it's not falling apart and filling my float bowls...

Good point, with all the home foreclosures these days you find things living in the strangest places.I would take a sample of that stuff to a college chemistry lab and have them put it under a microscope to see if it's alive. It could be some sort of microbe that's thriving on the fuel/liner mix. You may have stumbled on a new life form. Ed

I never use additives to my gas. My bikes just fire up without toubles on 6 months old gas...(for 20 years that is). But I do drain all float bowls prior to storage by just closing the tap and waiting.
I advise not to use the stabilizers etc... there only good for the manufacters
