My Mikuni 29 smoothbores have the single line fuel feed as you described. But am uncertain about which other Mikuni models have it.

When i get back and check a few other things I will give them a pull.. I really want to ID these, I like to know what I have and how it all works.. Thanks..
Also noticed #3 carb boot to the motor has a small crack , going to try the wd-40 trick...(z1 enterprises, not listed for 1980 z1, guess i have us a different year, THATS WHY IM TRYING TO ID< SIZE?) might explain the ocational slow drop in rpms?
Thanks again to all.... so i gotta pull them out of the brackets??? thanks:)

Am guessing the LTD Classic fuel injected model did not use carb holders, beng reason Z1E doesn't list carb holders for the LTD Classic.
And also guessing the standard model 1980 KZ1000 carb holders would fit, and are likely those currently fitted.
Z1E shows the 1980 KZ1000 standard model carb holders as being temporarily out of stock.
Z1E carb holders
Concur with your wanting to verify carb size and type to assure proper fitment of new carb holders. And when determined, believe the good folks at Z1E will know this immediately for your particular application.
Am hoping the carbs are Mikuni 29 smoothbores -- you know, the revered ones often worshipped in hushed tones.

did they change the head or did they block off the injection port some how?
Am out of my league here, but will suggest that the Z1 Classic fuel injection cylinder head incorporates ports for the injectors to fit (ports not found on a standard head), which ports are located above the larger openings for the "carb holders" (which are called "throttle holders" on the oem Z1 Classic fuel injection.
Can't tell from the pics, but perhaps any manner of block-off should be evident. Seems logical, but I don't know whether the original Z1 Classic head may be readily fitted with carbs by instaling standard carb holders and blocking the injector ports. Other members here will know for sure.
Here for reference is a diagram of the injector head.
