Well this trip was a bust.
They had the track prep's so well it was a wheelie fest
first 1/2 of the night then track went to chit.

First few pass the bike wanted to lift the tire
way to high to be comfortable with.
Added air to try to kill the traction no help.
Softer launch just bogged the motor.

With the car guys breakin axles and the oil downs
we had about a 30-45 min. down time as the temp.s dropped
to mid. 50's and the dew settling heavy they were spraying
the track about every 2-3 pass but it never came back.

By then I was back to blowin the tire off so called it a night and
got in the beer cooler and watched the car guys bounce
of the gaurd rails.

Best pass was a 12.21@105.81.
Damn I missed my wheelie bar.

that blows, last thing i took to the track was a 96 gsxr 750 ... couldnt get comfy on it enough to open the bottle and every launch was as bad as the last. it was so sticky they bitched i carried the wheel, then i damn near stalled it then i rode the piss out of the clutch and it was just embarrasing....

Lush if you think about it I was back pedaling
the wheelie's and not getting WFO till about the 60 ft.
and still ran damn near the same numbers as last time out.

With a suck a$$ launch it went 105.89
against a 105,98 best ever pass.
Over all tells me the new pipes making more power.

i bet it is, the power the gpz motor makes coupled with a great flowing head and the 29 smoothies and a drag pipe makes for a good combo. once you find a way to launch it comfortably i bet the numbers go down

Need to finish reworking the wheelie bar
and make mounts on the new swing arm.
That and I got a nice X-mas bonus so the
Boss is buying me a slick for X-mas.

Next up are a tach, shift light and an air shifter.
Right now riding by ear and shifting at the rev limiter
ain't the fastest way to make a pass.

I did but it was a car tach I was trying to make work.
At the time the cycle tach's from Autometer were on back order
so thought I'd try make that one work since I had it.

I have a circuit somewhere to get that tach working for you.

I had the same one on my KZ1000, worked great. I'll dig it up for you if you are interested.

Im running a Autometer on mine without any problems.....just had to get the Dynatek Tach Adapter...it was $21.

Dynatek Tach Adapter

Attachment tach_adapters.png not found

The two red eyes goto the coils ( one on each ) The large pinkish plug goes to the input to the tach...just one wire.

I like how you mounted that.

Here is my post with the explanation of how I did it.

Probably works the same or very similarly to the dyna patch cord. I never realized they made one.

ya, works the same as patch cord you made....

On mounting....I just used 1-piece of flat steel and bent a bracket. Its mounted to the shock bolt. Very sturdy mounting...dosent move...I try to use KISS when making something....Keep It Simple Stupid.....
