Zuk,,to get a good tire try,if you can,go to an 17x4.25-5.5 wheel. Your tire choices are almost limitless. Ill be running a 18x4.25 tire,but it'll be an Avon 150x70x18. I'm using what I have till i gather all for a 17 rim. I'm sure the 150 won't last long,lol.

1980 kz1000g 1105 34mm Mikuni flat slides Kerker exhaust custom paint stock ignition(Dyna 2000 soon) Accel coils and wires stock cams w/ heavy springs for more rpm. My 2nd 1000.

Got a little side tracked and put the bike on hold
but back at it.
GF still hobblin around with a boot on her foot
and we ended up moving to a place closer to my work and my little race shop.

Lower Mount's and bars done now waiting on the slick to finish the upper bars
just need the ride height to set the length and weld them.

Shinko makes a 150x18 "006" tire. Should be a decent tire if its anything like their 003. Would work best on a 4.25 rin though. Probably a little wide for your 3.5 rim.

Racer I looked at that one and it is a medium compound
so not sure on how sticky it would be
but thinking it would be good street tire.

Posted on Psychobike.com (grudge racing site) asking about it
but got no reply.

Are you planning on using that street tire at the track with wheelie bars?

The new bar is for the slick that's on the way.

But yes I have ran a bar with the street tire
some time's it hook's hard and some time's it spins
it ass off. When it hooks it like to wheelie.

I was just wondering cause most street tires just don't have traction ability to handle a full on launch with wheelie bars...thats what the slick is for. I'm seriously thinking on trying that Shinko tire on my KZ street bike for when I race it. That's why shocks work better with street tire. It gives tire a chance to hook while bike is squatting on shocks before all that power kicks in. I figure it will be better then most tires designed for our old bikes.

Our local track changed hands last summer and the new owner really
prep's the track well and a street tire will hook if you get it real hot.

Thing is the street tire is not consistent on launch so I might hook and wheelie one
pass then spin the next.

I'm doing to order the 150/60/18 006 Podium this Friday and see
how it work's gotta be better then the GT501 i have now.
All else it will make a nice fat street tire.
The 501 hooked ok when it was new but after about 100 pass it's gone to shit.

Ok back to trying to make the tech work and it's kickin my a$$.
I made an adapter using Tachrev's post and it still don't work

Try'd a 100k and a 750k resister and with the 750k
power on goes to shift point like it should
start the bike it goes back passed 0 to the stop
a few sec. then goes to the shift point again
and no responce to throttle.


Now that I think about it shouldn't my GPz ign box have a
tach output wire for the stock elect. tach
or did it get it from the coil ?
