Carb Stand from old carb holders.

The timing of this thread was perfect, I had been meaning to change my intake boots for close to a year AND I have been wanting to make a nice carb workstand for quite some time.

I dug some aluminum stock out of the scrap heap of my local metal supply shop, measured and drilled, and dropped it off at my welders.

Viola!

That is awesome! It almost makes you want to leave the carbs on the stand, instead of on the bike!

Haha it kinda does, not gonna lie... I even thought about getting it powdercoated!!! Figured it'd be a waste though...

Thats pretty cool Mark, now I see what you wanted some help with :evil: One suggestion i might make is to make the plate the carbs bolt to slide into the side stands. That way you can flip the carbs upside down to work on the bowl side

Yes, exactly! Though, I went for sturdiness instead of flipping - I was trying to scheme up a way to do that, but I couldn't without either 4 bolts (which take as much time to undo as 4 carb holders) or a seriously floppy workstand. I don't like floppy workstands. :silly:

I got a lot of really good ideas on here but that's freekin' killer.

Low budget (2 scraps of wood, and a few drywall screws) nowhere NEAR as elegant & sexy as some of the others here, but necessity is a mother!

Can't argue with what works! It's like folk art, it may not be pretty, but I like it!

dammit just saw this. I threw away the old parts when I replaced them and had to do this ...



then realized I can't get to the drain screws! haha

So I have been thinking about this for a while, but was thinking about utilizing some PVC and a vacuum to help dynamically set the sync prior to final sync on the bike.

Nice creative genius out there building these stands. Nice work guys!
