If the cover is already on then leave it but back off the tensioner to release the over tightness then reset the tensioner. No I didn’t….
What is your advice on what to do.
Should I take it off and back off the tensor before refitting it?

Morning! Here we go with more questions. I assembled yesterday the gear change cover. New gasket and all is well. I have replaced the large seal in the middle, the clutch bar seal and the gear change seal. Those are the obvious one.
However, when I disassembled the covers, I took all these parts and got them into a plastic bag. Parts marked in red are under control.
i cannot figure out where:
- another large (not as large as the center one) seal goes
- a strange looking bolt
- two cone shaped rubbers
I can’t find them in the parts diagrams, I can’t find a spot where they would fit, and of course I don’t have the slightest recollection of where do they go.
i have seen a similar bolt in the cmsnl parts diagram; will explore further.
on the seal and rubber cones… any ideas?

I believe the rubber cones go between the top and bottom cases (see page 6 and 7 of your thread) you would like to think a seal as big as the one in the picture's location would be fairly straightforward to identify (you would think
) that type of lip seal is used on a rotating shaft so your options are limited, is it on the ignition side of the crank behind the advancer ?

Thank god, my friend, I am completely sure I got the “cone” seals between both halves of the engine on assembly. I’d be dying if not!
These were in the sprocket cover plastic bag, so they have to come from there. They are different, very soft and quite thick rubber.

Im not familiar with your engine ,but i think that the large seal fits inside the engine outer cover and the coned seal is for the oil pump .
Update: I wonder why you ask do you have any new seals left over that is not mounted?

The remaining large seal was missing at the timing cover. All solved.
I still don´t know where the cones belong to, but I have a slight recollection they were installed in the sprocket cover. I´ll see when I close that.
In the meantime, I got some time to fit the intake rubbers, the alternator rotor and the rest of parts. Engine is now on the floor, ready to go into the frame. Have spent some time trying to figure out the order of the different fittings and spacers, and everything seems to be straightforward.
By the way, regarding the intake rubbers (new ones); they seem to be symmetrical, so there is no right or wrong way. I decided to get the "Made in Japan" writing to the exterior, just for looks and a bit of my own OCD.
Moving on...

Excuse me for the stupid question of the day. I am just unwrapping the final parts that came from the vapor blasting, really cool clean stuff.
However, one of the footrest "stands", has room for a warning label I cannot find. I personally find it really stupid to design a part for holding a sticker... but either I find the sticker, or I´ll have to find something to fill the void with...
Pic for reference...
