Kawasakis are well known for having touchy rear brakes. There are ways to adjust them to make them less likely to lock up.

I have a 750 LTD Twin and like it alot. Has a damaged seat lock as well but that doesn't keep it from going down the road
Your bike looks like its been kept out of the weather/in good shape.
