The brake problem may be the result of a grungy, rusty brake lever pivot. A good clean and lube may fix it.

These bikes are pretty reliable and easy to work on. Just get a good manual, and read the forums; they are full of good info.

I ran a 1/2" bolt through the mufflers to attach AND to create some restriction.
