By Locking up do you mean that after you apply it it's slow to release or that it's just easy to skid the rear tire?

My '83 1100 has too much rear brakes I think, in a hard emergency stop I had a couple of weeks ago, car pulled out in front of me, the rear locked up quickly, and I was using all the front I had. The 750 might be similar.

Thanks everyone!!!! I have all the side covers and plastics he just took them off for the winter for some reason. Ill be putting them back on this weekend. The Seat lock is broken but Im not to worried about that. I dont keep anything of value in the seat so if someone wants to go lift it up go ahead lol. The rear brake locks up when I put any pressure on it at all, and the pedal is very hard and tight. I have a good bike guy Im going to take it to saturday morning he said should be a quick adjustment so well see. I love the bike so far!

Welcome aboard.
The brake problem may be the result of a grungy, rusty brake lever pivot. A good clean and lube may fix it.

Hi Jen, looks like you've been slowly progressing in engine displacement. Keep at it, you will soon be in the 1000's. ;)
These bikes are pretty reliable and easy to work on. Just get a good manual, and read the forums; they are full of good info.
Take care! ED

The Engine sub-forum in the Technical forum is a good place for your question like TexasKZ said
