Hey everyone new to the forum! was created by JENKFITLIFE02
Hey everyone new to the forum. My name is Jen I recently purchased a 1980 kz750e. The person who sold me it just had all the mechanicals re done and looked over and a new headlight put on. I want to get a new seat (this one doesnt lock) and I have to add turn signals which he included along with the clymer manual. Prior to this bike I owened a 1979 honda cm400t and a 1983 suzuki gr650 tempter. This is my first Kawaksaki! Hope to hear from some of you and I will def be asking advise in the future. The new bike started right up in 20 degree philly this weekend. From the test drive and spending some time with it I love her already. "Red Fury" and I will have a good summer!
-Jen

Hey thank you for the warm welcomes. I would like to do as much as I can but I know my limits. The prior owner just had over $1000 in work done at a triumph shop so it shouldn't need anything for awhile. I just need to add signals and put the back cowl on it. The seat lock is broke so with the cowl on it scraps the paint a little. Its been around 21-35 degrees here and I had it around the neighborhood yesterday the back brake seemed to be locking up is that normal for the cold or new brakes? Are they too tight?

Welcome, 750E is great bike and easy to get parts for including the seats.

Kawasakis are well known for having touchy rear brakes. There are ways to adjust them to make them less likely to lock up.

The seat lock may be missing. not sure from the pics if it's there or not.
Hopefully the po didn't cut off the seat lock bracket.
The diagrams at Partzilla are handy. or Kawasaki.com.

welcome to the forum. Good place to get info and trade stories

I have a 750 LTD Twin and like it alot. Has a damaged seat lock as well but that doesn't keep it from going down the road ;)

Your bike looks like its been kept out of the weather/in good shape.
