Had that system on my '78 1000 for almost 20 years now. Sounds good but the chrome doesn't hold up well, at least on the header portion. The megaphone still looks good. Also had to massage the muffler joint as it was slightly out of round and took some coaxing to slip over the header.

I'm very happy with mine. Competition baffle. Sounds mean and easy to tune.

They look good & perform well, but they don't make em like they used to, as far as the chrome goes,
I've only gotten caught in the rain, a handful of times & I've got some surface rust at the collector
If they made the Dekelvic S.S. pipes when I bought this Vance & Hines . I would've bought one of them instead, I've heard nothing but good things about them, & because they're Stainless steel, you don't have to worry about rust, & they're about the same if not, less money
This is my Vance, but if I were you, I would give Z1E a shout & see if they have Dekelvic pipe for your bike

Some stainless steel will rust. It depends on the type. I bought mine in 97. A friend told me the reason for the yellow tint is because of what's in the plating. Cheap plating will have a yellowish tint. My bike has always been a hard run daily driver so keeping it pristine is not a priority.

They were still good Quality back in 97, Steve, they used heavier gauge steel & better quality plating
You'd be surprised in the difference in quality, from your pipe & a new one

Looks good. Is it SS? Can you get to the oil filter? I bought the one I have because the high performance street had to be taken off to get to it. I was told I would lose a couple ponies but with my Mods, I think I more than made up for it. :woohoo: I miss my cross over 4/2's. The Jardine slip on's were close to the same price so I went for the 4/1 just to see what difference it would make. Not much. :(

Yes Steve they're S.S. & I think you can get to the filter, If not , they are easy to remove, because they're attached to the head with springs
Z1 E. sells them for 299.95
P.S. I miss spelled It ...It's DELKEVIC

I got mine at Chaparral for $450. I got hosed?
At least I got two baffles for $17 a piece. Street competition and drag. I took out the stock one and have been running the Comp baffle since I bought it. Guys on their cruisers are intimidated by it. Going down the street, all heads turn to see Bossie. I smile when the chicks realize a old guy is on this monster. Ah to be young again but not nearly as much trouble. ;)

I've noted the spring attachment at the head, does anyone have a photo? I'm curious how this goes together on a stock setup.
