Seems like I always have gas in my oil, I've changed it about 3 or 4 times since I got it running again to flush out the motor. And changed oil filter couple times. I've maybe put 25 miles on it.

U need to fix the carbs leakage. Gas in the oil will break it up...o would say that is what causing the clutch to slip.
Lever should have about 1/4" play.

The clutch plates may be fine. The clutch cable may be so far out of adjustment that it is preventing the clutch from fully engaging. The cable may be so dry that it is hanging up. The release mechanism may be gunked up.

Get out yor factory service manual and carefully clean and service the clutch lever, cable and release mechanism before declaring the clutch dead.

Oh, and fix the petcock and carbs. A sump full of gasoline can cause catastrophic damage.

When the clutch plates sit for a long time, they become stuck together. Taking them out, cleaning them and putting them back in oiled could solve the problem. A stuck actuator could cause this too.

Did you think to check the thickness of the friction plates? I was SHOCKED doing a clutch replacement on a Z1 many years ago with so little wear.
I felt guilty letting the guy pay for lunch and beverages for me to do it ....since the plates were still well within spec after 22,000 miles. But it's what he wanted. I kept the plates and later used them on an old LTD with about 40K miles on it that did have slipping clutch pack.

not sure if that helps right now, but in case you buy new plates and springs like i did and still have a slipping clutch, install spacers between the spring and the bolt. thats what i did last week and i rarely get slipping anymore.

if you install new clutches and still fill it slipping then u probably have a worn out clutch hub , pressure plate or both.
