talked to timesert customer support...he gave me the part number for the M14x 1.25 "Bigsert" kit and the part # for the inserts ,sold separate

quick question as I head out the door...anyone here have a big sert /timesert tool they want to rent me...I'll send it back wrapped in world superbike t-shirts and SEca gear.....
or does anyone know if the 150.00 NAPA kits are "bigsert" or for repairing failed stnadard helicoils

If not either....than I will just pay the 300+ and buy the timesert/bigsert kit...only drag is it is only for that exact size and the toolling kit does not convert tips to do other like M8 etc....but 3-400 to have the bike run another summer...why not...
anyone got a kit they want to lend me?????

p.s I am in good standing on this site...it used to be we all shared and gave parts for free to each other or lent stuff....in the last years there have been threads where guys got jacked and burned....very sad that folks on this site would have to be wary to help other kzriders....pay it forward...and always...pay it back.....

I too have had stuff stolen by a member..porsche914V has about 100 bucks of my stuff for 3 years and refuses to send it back or reply...fuck him..total asshole move.....

both of my Kevin Cameron books...A 74 Z-1 tail and tool tray ,and a moriwaki half pipe....not a word....

Hopefully someone on this site will have the tool to lend, but if they don't you may want to check out the possibility of renting one. Here's a place that says they rent the tool for $40 for a month if you buy the inserts from them, but you would need to make sure they have what you need. Ed

For that amount of cash, wouldn't it be just as easy to buy a good head?
Good luck either way.

I am sending this head out to pit stop in the fall for sure and this head is a known item...buying an used internet head is iffy...but may be a good sound back up investment and I for now just wanted to do an in the bike fix...grease the tool to catch shaving and I already have tubes taped up - reduced stages to put on the shop vac and carb cleaner the shit out of the cylinder then vacuum it out...worked last time for a tap while bike is in one piece.....money is not the issue...riding to bike night and WSBK week...and rides till fall would be worth it....just wanted to check in and see if some dummy like me already bought the thing and now its a paper weight on their shop bench.......bike out tomorrow and plug hole and thread pics....decided to go slam some ling cod in the morning and try and troll up a salmon in the kayak....mans gotta eat...cant eat a bike!!!! :silly:

How about it?! Why spend so much to fix when you can just get another head and rebuild it?

because folks who sell stuff 905 of the time sell something fucked up...listed as perfect condition...I know this head works...and fixing a plug hole and riding the bike now...is better than buying a used head...and sending it to be fixed....I will ride the bike soon

200-400 bucks aint much money to keep a bike up and running...guys spend stupid money on this site and then never hear it run and try and sell it...or fire it up and blow the thing up.....400 bucks is nothing...
