Here's some info that may be helpful from the Time-Sert site. Ed

www.timesert.com/html/faq.html#15
15. Can I repair a stripped helicoil with a TIME-SERT insert?

No, you cannot repair a helicoil with a TIME-SERT. The over-sized line in inserts available is called BIG-SERT. Please refer to catalog or web page for sizes available. Link: BIG-SERT

Here is TimeSert's 800 phone number, 800-423-4070.

Somebody there should be able to answer that question. Give them a shot.

I can't get a hold of my machinist buddy back in Chicago to have him measure one for you.

I just sold a KZ1000 head I had replaced both inside plug threads.
The head had helicoil repairs that left about 3/4 in. of wire inside
the combustion chamber. It's been some years since I fixed it (5?)
My local bike shop is using it to replace a head that a customer
stripped out all the cam cap bolt threads. I'll check tomorrow
to see if they still have it. I don't remember if it was time cert or
something else.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration Listing that might have some info for you- kind of spendy for the whole kit, and it looks like the actual insert has to be bought separately.

I just recently fixed a bad helicoil spark plug hole with a NAPA purchased spark plug repair insert. I use the NAPA inserts all the time. They are a solid, double threaded unit just like a timecert.

The tap for the NAPA insert perfectly chased the helicoil threads in the head. The insert screwed in perfectly.

The NAPA insert gets locked in via the bottom few threads when you tighten the spark plug in. Still, I use the Green Loctite [sleeve retainer type] on the insert threads [Red would suffice]. When you install the spark plug the first time it will get tight as it reaches the bottom threads of the insert. It's pushing & locking those threads into the aluminum. Put some oil on the plug threads that first time. I use an old plug with good threads for that. Then install your fresh new spark plug.

You'll see in the picture that the inserts have a flange at the top. It will sit slightly proud of the hole surface unless you want to find a tool to cut a recess for it. You don't need to though. They were just fine without doing anything.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone wastes their time with shitty helicoils unless the situation forces the issue. Solid inserts are waaaaayyyyy better and look how inexpensive the kits are...

Here's a low cost, similar kit

Tri.. the kit comes with 3 different length inserts, did you use the longest one...?
If not, that would mean you'd be able to re-tap with the longer one (which you should have used anyways... )

The Heli-Coil is a time sert design so not sure this would help or not.... Same time, Larry mentioned the NAPA brand that has repaired previous bad sparky inserts.... Possibly thicker/deeper outer sert threads to bite into the head....

Worst case, pop the head off and take it to a machinist...

I used the Heli-coil on mine, no issue to date, basically same design....

Stopped by the cycle shop and they still had the head.
I don't remember what I used. But the head mechanic/owner
said the concerts they use are what's available at the auto parts store.
Time certs tend to get a little pricey when dealing with hamfisted ATV owners.
Here are some pics of said head.

I use Helicoils for everything that strips EXCEPT the spark plugs. I've used both Timeserts and NAPA inserts for both. The NAPA ones are the ones I'm happiest with.
