More bad news. was created by badrhino
I have already checked my valve clearances and did adjustments once. I have been having problems with bike not running correctly. I know I am not getting a fat blue spark but am still working on that problem. Anyhow I finally got around to doing a compression test on the cylinders and I think I found a major problem.

Compressions:
1: 120
2: 110
3: 40
4: 120

Yeah number three is bad. What do you suggest I do now? Should I recheck the valves to make sure they are still good? I don't know how it would have gotten off. Could the timing be off? But wouldn't that affect all cylinders if that was the case?

Yeah Id check them again, nothing to lose. You could also dump a little oil down the plug holes and check numbers to see if the come up,if they come up Id lean towards rings not sealing. B)

did you make sure the throttle is open? I had 60 psi in my #2 that is why I am curious. might take the pipes and carbs off and spray some carb cleaner in the closed valves to see if they seal well.

re-edit, took the valve shims out of the intake, set the timing and now I have 100 psi in the #2 cylinder. thanks to some outside help- you all couldn't think of that?

No I did not have the throttle open on any of the readings as the carbs are not on at the moment.

I would check the valve clearance. Then if all is good i would perform a leak down test.
