I am 100% newbie..... i have ordered a clymer manual but hasnt arrived yet. Bought my 1st kz this weekend. Got it home and after 5 miles has a pretty good oil leak....looks like the center of the front of motor at head gasket? Also leaking in rear and looks like it is either from where something electrical bolts to the motor, but also is pooling up around what i assume is the head bolts? Please help!

uh huh, I had that too. it is usually dripping down past the spark plugs or around the exhaust. it may be the tach drive seal.

Including information about bike year and model is helpful to viewers and usually elicits better responses.
It's easy to put the information in your signature where it shows in all posted messages, past and future.
And may be changed whenever and as often as desired.
If wanting a signature showing information about the bike in posted messages, it's easy to do. Here's how:

Try tightening up the bolts first, then take it to the carwash and clean it up to see if you have any other leaks B)

wait for it to dry after the car wash you probably don't like water spots on your motor  . also clean and lube your chain, who knows if carwash soap has degreaser qualities.

also don't leave it in the sun unless you want the paint to fade.

I have cleaned it and then allowed to run and then the oil reaapeared. The tach cable is an issue, but i wrapped it in shop towel and the oil still appeared at the noted places.....i would like to do this myself as i do not have the 6-800 dollar estimate i was given at the most reasonable local bike shop........just trying to pull in as much info as possible.... thanks.

There are several different sources for oil leaks, most of which are are readily repairable.

Would thoroughly clean the engine, allow it to completely dry, spray foot powder onto suspected leak areas (all over edges of the cam cover and head gaskets, around the tach drive and exhaust clamps, etc.).
Should then look like a clean white blanket of freshly fallen snow.

Start the engine, and watch for appearance of darkening area where the oil is coming through the powder.

The source of leak is usually very evident.

Without the white spray powder coating, it's often more difficult to positively identify source of the leak.
