Ok, head is tore down, ready for new gaskets....so what gaskets do you reccomend using the copper spray on? Not the head?

Did you check cam chain guides/rollers..... while youre in there? B)
If you have access to a solvent tank and air compressor Id check the valves to see if theyre sealing while head is off B)

If you have access to an air compressor flip the head on its back with intake ports laying flat on bench/ground whatever you have.
If you don't have a source for solvent I suppose you could fill all 4 exhaust ports with water(make sure to blow out with air and wd40 when done)then take an air hose/nozzle and blow air around edge of each valve face where it meets valve seat.
Look for bubbles in each exhaust port as you blow air around edge of valve,if you don't see any bubbles the valve is sealing/if you see bubbles in port theres your leaking valve.
Flip head over and repeat on intake side of head.
That's a quick/dirty go/no go valve sealing test. B)

not sure if anyone suggested this yet but does it have a mechanical tachometer port on the front of the motor? It would be located near the valve cover right on the front of the engine. If the O-ring in there is shredded up or crummy, it will leak like its a wide open hole. My dad's 1981 KZ1000LTD with the CSR motor did that. Its a quick fix too. Remove the retainer for the little shaft sticking out, yank it out with a pare of pliers, replace the o-ring, stick it back in, and put the retainer back in.
